#blogtribe // Introducing Our New Digital Community

I look forward to Tuesdays.

Seriously, I do. Mondays are always a struggle and Fridays are easy to get through but Tuesday was always tough for me. It was a day that still signalled the start of a long week but that's changed. #blogtribe Tuesday has changed that for me - or should I say you guys have changed that for me.

I now know that throughout the day I can simply take a moment to discover a world outside my own, a flood of blogging inspiration from around the globe - be it food, fashion or DIY craft, I have been inundated with blogging inspiration in my feed and it's been heartwarming to say the very least.  I have seen words of support, thanks and encouragement pour out of your mouths as you lift each other up and at the end of the day that is what keeps us blogging forward.

It is this feeling of inspiration that caused us to hit go on a new online community this week - one that creates a home for bloggers worldwide to connect with one another.  If you can't make it to our events or just want to share and reach out please join our new digital home - simply request an invite here and join the adventure and next time you're struggling to get through the Tuesday blues, stop, take a breath and sneak outside for a cheeky glimpse at the #blogtribe hashtag and I guarantee you'll be visually inspired.

Go on and get involved and make sure to check out the top 4 blogs that stopped me in my tracks this week. Warning...if you're not hungry now, you will be after looking at a few of these...

1.  Love Bex
2. Stephanie Sterjovski
3. Iron Chef Shellie
4. Hortus by Valentina Solfrini

Looking to find your tribe? Get involved with this week's #blogtribe movement:

  1. Each week, take part in #blogtribe Tuesday by uploading on either InstagramFacebook or Twitter (or all three!) an image of a blogger or blog that inspires you, that you want to support or that you feel deserves a bit of attention. Go on, make a blogger's day!
  2. Always use the hashtag #blogtribe and tag @blogsociety so your images can be shared in our weekly wrap-up as well as shared with bloggers around the world.
  3. This celebration is all about having fun, if you miss a day, don’t worry simply post when inspiration strikes!
  4. Check back often and follow the #blogtribe hashtag feed each week to seek, discover and connect with new blogs and bloggers.

Know a blogger that might like to get involved? Make sure to spread the word about #blogtribe or sign up to newsletter to join our blog community.

Behind The Blog Scene // Gabriel Cabrera of The Artful Desperado

A unique perspective can sometimes be exactly what it takes to make a blog stand out and raise up above the clutter. Combine that with a true talent and eye for beautiful design and you've got the recipe for blog success which is exactly why so many people have fallen in love with The Artful Desperado (myself included).

Not only is Gabriel our first Canada-based blogger to be featured on Blog Society, he's also the first male blogger we've profiled and we love his fresh and honest outlook. His interview below provides some top advice including some hard hitting truth about getting away from your computer and really living in the moment....enjoy.

Describe your blog in 3 words…
Spicy Creative Hub
What is your blogging manifesto?
To truly embrace the art of living, that is with food, art, design, and everything else that makes your eyes water with joy.
Top 3 blogging essentials?
Camera, Photoshop, Sketchbook for post ideas (which come without notice!)
My biggest blogging moment/milestone was....
Traveling to Australia! I was invited as part of a group of North American bloggers to explore the Aussie culture. I just couldn't believe it when they sent me the invite! I kept running around in circles like a chihuahua chasing its tail, and thought to myself "I must be doing something right!". My dream collaboration would be?
An art and food photoshoot with Maggie Ruggiero and Theo Vamvounakis, the food stylist and prop stylist in residence of Gather Journal. Seriously, my chest bumps like a dryer with shoes in it just thinking of them.
Right now I'm listening to...
St. Lucia! Love their happy-colourful-dancey tunes. Perfect to get sh*t done while shaking booty.
Best piece of advice to a newbie blogger?
Get off your computer! (once your posts are done, obvs!). The best sources of inspiration are not on Pinterest, they're in restaurants, books, movies, parks, concerts, everywhere! As much as the internet is helpful, it will never compare to how much your senses can absorb from living the moment.
If I wasn't blogging I'd be...
Lost. Honestly, blogging has freed me from the fear of trying new things. It's been super rewarding to explore a bunch of different creative (uncharted) territories. Also, I'd probably be stuck in some kitchen eating all the goodies by myself. Like. No.
Behind the scenes of my blog looks like...
sharknado attack! As much as I'd like to say that I am an insanely organized blogger, I'm totally not. I do have ideas in a sketchbook and somewhat of an editorial calendar, but most things just happen very "spur of the moment". I am known for going to parties after a photoshoot with meringue smirred in my mustachio (hawt!), so things can get crazy. Crazy fun!
In 2014 I'm most excited about...
New creative projects for the summer! I find summer brings a huge wave of ideas that are just too good to pass, I already have a few lined up for food typography and lifestyle profiles. OH! also a new blog redesign which will strip down everything but the content, basically my online home is getting big renos. Woop woop!
