Braid Bar With Hair Romance

I'm interrupting this week's normal Blog Biz post to celebrate a little #tbt (throw back Thursday) and bring to light an event that I completely forgot to post about ages ago and that brings to light a lot of what Blog Society is all about.  I get asked the question all the time if Blog Society is only for bloggers - and to set the record straight - that answer is no. Yes, a strong portion of our community are bloggers, but we embrace and connect with anyone who seeks and craves creativity in their lives.  We want to get you excited, to make you step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Case in point is the event I'm highlighting today and was an event that I had wanted to host before the idea of Blog Society was born - say hello to our first Braid Bar.

I've admitted to in the past that hair and make-up is not my forte so I teamed up with my gorgeous girlfriend and hair expert, Christina Butcher of Hair Romance to host an fun evening to learn the art of braiding. Christina is a brilliant teacher and led the classes through various styles and techniques that I'm still practicing on today - the fishtail braid is my favourite but takes a bit of time to get it just right. It was such a fun night I and hope to bring something similar back on our calendar later this year. In the meantime Christina has hosted a few other classes this year so keep an eye on her page for new announcements!

Have a class you'd love for us to host? Let us know below...

Sydney Make-Up Workshop

There is nothing more rewarding than the adrenaline fuelled moment when your event is about to begin and you wait for the first guest to arrive.  I have a passion for creating events that spark creativity and bring people together.  The behind the scenes work involves months of phone calls, emails and organisation but when you look around the room and all the details have fallen perfectly in place, the music is turned on, the flowers arranged and the champagne chilled - that's the moment you remember.

Last weekend I was thrilled to team up with Natalie from Eat Read Love and make-up artist, Liv Lundelius to host our first make-up workshop at the brand new Create Or Die studio. It was the perfect excuse to get a bit glam and hang out with some amazing ladies for an incredible afternoon.  As with all my events, it was a collaborative effort to bring this idea to life and I couldn't have done it with the following support... a huge thank you to our wonderful event partners for supporting this event:
