Behind The Blog Scene // Hilary Rushford of Dean Street Society

I'm a big believer in the school of thought that in order to grow you should surround yourself by those that can lift you higher. Often times that means surrounding yourself with friends, colleagues or peers that are smarter, more qualified or more advanced than yourself. Why? Because it's those experienced souls that will shove you out of your comfort zone, force you to consider new ideas and push you where you need to go. When it comes to business and blogging, Hilary Rushford of Dean Street Society is one of those smart clever women that simply by working with her over the past few weeks I have been exposed to new ideas, skills and can't begin to explain how much I've learned from her.

Just recently I was lucky enough to be chosen as part of her affiliate program and listening to her business advice was invaluable and something I hope to be able to pass along to others during my next e-course affiliate program which I'm opening up this community (if you're keen to get involved just shoot me an email!). After such a positive experience I asked Hilary to share some of her best blogging advice with us here...I think you'll like what she has to say. Enjoy!

Right now I'm listening to...
My French indy-music station on Pandora {I can't understand the lyrics so it doesn't distract my brain!}
Best piece of advice to a newbie blogger?
Blog less. Focus on growing your following larger through guest posts, collaborations, social media, before you pour more content into the same small circle of readers.
If I wasn't blogging I'd be...
Working in the West Wing of the White House. {Unrealistic, but my secret dream!}
In 2014 I'm most excited about...
